The Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania helps to raise awareness about epilepsy through its Project School Alert program. In addition, the EFEPA also offers kids like Joe Cancel, who live with epilepsy, the opportunity to attend Camp Achieve. The camp helps children and teens cope with the stresses of living with epilepsy and helps them find supportive peers who understand their struggles. Joe Cancel lives in Allentown, PA and has epilepsy. After a difficult incident, Joe’s mom found out about the Epilepsy Foundation and Camp Achieve. Joe was able to attend Camp Achieve, and credits his experience there with changing his life. Check out Joe’s story.
