Health Hero Challenge – Philadelphia magazine’s Be Well Philly

1 Min Read

Over the last few months, Philadelphia magazine’s health blog Be Well Philly has run the Health Hero Challenge, in which readers could vote for several nominees that make a big impact on the health of people throughout the Philadelphia area. The Health Hero Challenge is also sponsored by United Healthcare. UHC has donated one dollar for each vote cast in the contest (up to $5000) to the American Heart Association. The voting results from the semifinal round are in, and the four finalists of the Health Hero Challenge are:

•Heather McDanel, founder and director of the organization Students Run Philly Style

•Chris Marino, owner and personal trainer at Marino’s Body Shop in Downingtown

•Beth DuPree, Breast surgeon and medical director, Holy Redeemer’s Breast Health Program, and founder of the Healing Consciousness Foundation

•Steve Brown, Triathlete, Team in Training coach, and cancer survivor

Be Well Philly hired me to produce a short video about each of the finalists. The videos go live today on the Be Well Philly site, and voting for the winner also begins today. In my book all of the finalists are health heroes.  Check out the videos to see how all of these finalists work to improve the health of people in the Philadelphia area. And then head over to Be Well Philly’s Facebook page and cast your vote!
