Parks on Tap – Strawberry Mansion Bridge

1 Min Read

The summer is a great time to be in Philadelphia. There are so many seasonal outdoor attractions. Beer gardens abound, as well as pop-up parks, and even a roller rink and ferris wheel. One of my favorite summer attractions is Parks on Tap.

Parks on Tap is a traveling beer garden that appears in parks all over Philadelphia. It is a partnership between Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy. You can hang out at a park, drink beer, lounge in hammocks, and play outdoor games all for a good cause. A portion of the proceeds goes back to parks.

Back in early July, Parks on Tap was on top of the Strawberry Mansion Bridge in Fairmount Park. If you don’t know, the Strawberry Mansion Bridge is a beautiful wrought iron work of art that spans the Schuylkill River. It connects the east and west portions of Fairmount Park. And, it is my favorite bridge in the city.

I worked with Marc Wilken at Parks and Recreation to create this short video that captures the beauty and fun of beer gardens out in Philly’s Parks. To see where Parks on Tap is this week, check out their official site.
